    During a rebuild of BMW clutch-type LSD units found in models such as E30, E36 and E34, damage is often discovered on the flat surface of the pressure plates (ramps) caused by worn clutch plates.

    The RacingDiffs Ramp Saver Shim is designed to repair this damage while also allowing you to restore or increase differential preload depending on your setup requirements.

    Why You Need This Shim

    Over time, worn clutch plates can damage the flat contact surface of BMW LSD pressure plates. Instead of replacing the entire ramp assembly, the Ramp Saver Shim restores the contact surface and allows the differential to operate correctly again.

    It also provides the option to increase preload, which improves traction and locking characteristics in motorsport applications such as drifting, track racing and hill climb.
